Outcome of Disability Community Resource Center Meeting with APDSE. New Union Representative.

I am very happy to introduce myself as your new Representative Liaison for the Labor Union, working closely with Board President, Jeff Michaelson, in the capacity of assistant and liaison between the union and the collective bargaining unit members. I am also serving as Administrative Assistant and Social Media Marketer. I look forward to meeting you and I will be speaking to you via telephone soon. On 12/20/18, the second meeting between the DCRC and APDSE took place, with Executive Director, T.J. Hill, Board President, Jeff Michaelson, and Representative, Desiree Gambos being present. Topics of discussion were the creation of one of the first criteria in independent living centers, for metric based social services standards, through the IL Proficiencies. The union will be demanding that the employer, in accordance with the CBA, provide employee evaluations so raises can be provided. Please refer to Article 7, Sections 1-3 of your CBA.
Mr. Michaelson is excited about the hiring of T.J. Hill as Executive Director at the DCRC and personally attests to the qualifications of Mr. Hill as the most effective E.D. in independent living, and hopes he remains as E.D. for years to come. Mr. Hill has worked with Senator Harkin and has participated in legislation developement of some of the most important disability laws.
