We would like to welcome the newly hired employees at DCRC. The Union has met with one new employee and will meet with the next. The Union is very encouraged after vociferous, aggressive negotiations with the former Executive Director of DCRC, every employee shall receive a 2 % Cost of Living Adjustment to the hourly salary that have never been negotiated before. If any employee does not receive the 2% COLA reflected in their net paycheck, to be issued May 5th and 20th, please immediately call Jeff Michaelson at (310) 461-9648. However, this should not be a problem because the employer already provided an accounting of each CBUE's COLA to the Union, which appears to be accurately calculated. Several employees have communicated that they have not received their yearly employee evaluation because without the evaluation an employee is not eligible for at least if not more 0.25 cent merit increase. Please contact Jeff immediately if you do not receive your evaluation in a timely manner because the evaluation could increase your salary. A grievance can be filed if the evaluation was not administered. After a very long month of collecting data and conducting three separate employee meetings , the ILC Proficiency Standards were modified to some degree based on the input from employees , consumers an other professionals within the disability community. Unfortunately, due to health issues, the Union not able to release the final proposal which shall be attached to the APDSE DCRC CBA as Appendices E and F and will now release the revised proposal on May 5rth.A final ratification vote shall be et in accordance with the APDSE Constitution by May 31st, 2019. Lastly, the Association will require Membership Forms an he Union Dues Authorization forms from each CBUE member, with the exception of employees who have been employed for less than 6 months, for purposes of conducting this important ratification vote that shall also provide a third procedure for eligibility for promotional based pay increases. On May 17th, the Association shall have representatives available who will attend the Mental Health Awareness community Fair at DCRC to answer any questions and also to learn about mental health resources.
